I'm still alive...

...just not writing much. Or at all. It's been a month since I last posted to this blog, and I apologize to my 2 loyal followers :) And to anyone else who happens alogn.

Life is still interfering with my fantasy worlds. The Kindergarten search is still on. We're hoping to hear from one place within a week or so, and have a second school to mail an application to.

Our kitchen is a mess. We had water damage from a poorly installed patio door. We have a new door, new patch of subfloor, and about 3/4 of a laminate floor installed over it. The whole area is huge--20x20 family room + 12x20 of breakfast/kitchen that are all really one large room. And we're doing the floor ourselves. (well, I'm reffing the kiddos...hubby's doing the installation himself). The new door (a french one, with blinds inbetween the glass) looks nice, and I love the new floor (looks like wood, only toddler-proof).

At work, we're beign requested to work overtime. That's always a sticky proposition for me, because I don't quite work full-time, so my "overtime" isn't the same as everyone else's, which stresses me out. And I'm taking a couple of evening classes.

And, I came down with strep last week. Got drugs on Wednesday, and my throat is mostly better as of Monday. I think I've been under too much stress lately :)

Although the voices in my head aren't finding their way to my keyboard, they're not quieting down. So, I have every hope that I'll find time to write again starting in a couple of weeks.

Oh, and I registered for the RWA national convention in DC this summer. At the rate I'm going, it may end up an expensive little vacation, unless I can get my butt back in gear and produce something to pitch. If nothing else, it'll give me an excuse to buy or make a nice formal dress :)

Hi, Kristi! No need to apologize! But I'm so glad you posted. I was about ready to email you to make sure all was well. It is hard to find time to write and blog when the family, kids, the house, work, are all a priority. I'm glad you love your kitchen and I hope kindergarten is figured out soon! I find stuff with my kids the most stressful thing of all. And ugh! Strep is the worst! Glad you're feeling better. We've been dealing with the flu in my house. So not fun. Anyway, I'm happy you caught us up and am jealous you're going to D.C. You'll have a great time!

Take care! :)
